Hawks dancing in the wind…..over their dinner.

A pair of hawks – perhaps Cooper’s Hawks from their call – were photographed dancing in the wind late one afternoon over Alpine Dam. Look closely in the zoomed image and you can see the leader is flying with a fresh dinner hanging from its claws. Attracting a mate or rival, who knows?
